Alberto Echaburu comes from a family of strong jai-alai tradition. Born in New
Haven Connecticut, on April 11, 1979, he is the son of the world famous Jose
Javier Echaburu a superstar from the Bridgeport - Milford circuit. Alberto
learned to play the sport of jai-alai at an early age. His father was a jai-alai
instructor in Bridgeport Ct. in the late 70's, teaching amateurs and pros alike.
Mr. Echaburu Sr. went on to invent the first plastic jai-alai cesta for children
which served as a model for newer more innovative plastic cestas.

Echaburu made his professional debut in 1996 in Tijuana Mexico. After a
short stint in Ft pierce and Ocala Florida, he was promoted to Miami Jai-alai
where he has made his mark as a feature game player. At 6'4", Alberto is one
of the biggest and strongest players in the industry.

Theodore Echaburu, Albert's older brother, is an outstanding early game
player at Miami jai-alai. Ted made his debut in 1991 in Tijuana Mexico and
began playing in Miami in 1996.
